Dee Set Logistics LTD provide an end-to-end retail solution to five of the biggest retailers in the UK and have just been awarded accreditation for Zero Waste to Landfill, certified by Valpak ZWTL. After 20 years of successfully growing the family-run business that now employees a 4,000 strong workforce across the UK, Dee Set strongly believe that industry collectively needs to roll up its sleeves and take responsibility for some of the planet's most significant environmental challenges. The accreditation recognises the work being done to reduce Waste to Landfill, which includes recycling 228 tonnes of plastic, card and metal this year, which equates to almost 70% of waste produced. The remaining waste is then used to produce electricity through incineration, with the ash even being used to make building products! Dee Set acquired Tactical Solutions in 2020 to strengthen the business position in the FMCG marketplace. Tactical Solutions were also accredited as being a Carbon Neutral business last month with a commitment to offset 809,000 kgs of the company’s carbon emissions, whilst also supporting deforestation, cleaning up the oceans and providing clean cookstoves in the Southern hemisphere. Rob Slaski, Chief Operating Officer for Dee Set commented, “As leading partners in the FMCG industry, we are keen to act responsibly and support the environment by committing to projects that reduce waste to landfill and increase sustainable energies. It’s becoming more and more important not only to us as a business, but for our customers and employees and will play an important role as we continue to grow.” Find out more about our sustainability efforts here.
